Chapter 1

After the Jewish people had been in Babylon about 70 years,
the Lord moved the heart of the king of Persia
to free the Jews.

The king also told the Jews to re-build their temple in 
Jerusalem.

犹太人巴比伦大约七十年后,
感动波斯王的心,释放犹太人

君王还告诉犹太人,在耶路撒冷重建他们的殿宇。

Dear Lord, please give freedom to all the peoples of the world

亲爱的,请将自由给世上所有人

Chapters  2, 3

About 50,000 Jews returned to Israel after 70 years of exile in Babylon.

The returnees gathered in Jerusalem for worship.
They were overcome with joy.

被放逐到巴比伦七十年后,大约五万犹太人返回以色列

回归者为崇拜聚集在耶路撒冷
他们充满喜悦。

Dear God, please help all exiles return to their homeland

亲爱的,请帮助所有放逐者返回他们的家园


Chapter 4

Having returned from exile, 
the Jews started to rebuild their temple in Jerusalem.

But some enemies of Israel
tried to frighten and dishearten the Jews
from rebuilding the temple.

从放逐回来,
犹太人开始在耶路撒冷重建他们的殿宇。

但是一些以色列的敌人,
尝试吓唬和挫折犹太人重建殿宇的勇气。

Dear God, when anyone tries to stop us from doing good, 
please give us courage to keep going

亲爱的,当任何人尝试阻止我们做好事时,
请给我们勇气坚持下去

Chapters  5, 6

The prophets Haggai and Zechariah encouraged the people 
in the rebuilding of the temple.

Despite opposition, the Jews kept on rebuilding the temple.

尽管反对,犹太人继续进行重建殿宇。

Dear God, when anyone tries to stop us from doing good, please give us courage to keep going

亲爱的,请帮助我成为别人的鼓励者

Chapter 7

Ezra was a scholar who loved to study the Law of the Lord.
He was a descendant of Aaron.

The Lord moved the heart of the king of Persia
to grant any request that Ezra made to help the Jews.

Ezra prayed: "Blessed be the Lord our God, for moving the
king's heart to look favorably on the rebuilding of our temple."

厄斯德拉是位经师,他喜欢研究的法律。  
他是
亚郎的后裔。

感动波斯王的心,
准许厄斯德拉所提出帮助犹太人的任何请求。

厄斯德拉祈祷赞美我们的,因感动君王的心,赞同重建殿

Dear God, please move the hearts of all government leaders 
to look favorably on citizens who want to do good things

亲爱的,请感动所有政府领袖的心,
支持想做好事的公民


Chapters  8, 9, 10

Before the Jews left Babylon,
Ezra had organized them to pray and fast for a safe journey.

When the Jews reached Jerusalem,
Ezra dissolved any marriages that had been arranged with foreign women  while the Jews were in Babylon.

厄斯德拉安排他们,为一路平安而祈祷和禁食。

Dear God, please help us to remember to pray for safety 
each time we set out on a journey

Nehemiah 乃赫米雅


Chapters 1 - 4

Nehemiah was cupbearer for the king of Persia.
He heard how the Jews who had returned to Jerusalem
were facing many difficulties.

Nehemiah received permission from the king
to go to Jerusalem and help rebuild the city.

Nehemiah then supervised the re-building of Jerusalem's wall,
even though some foreigners in Jerusalem made fun of him.

When the workers were ridiculed by foreigners,
Nehemiah said to the workers:
"Do not be afraid of them. Just keep your mind on the Lord."

乃赫米雅波斯王的司酒长。
他听到返回耶路撒冷犹太人
怎样面对许多困难。

乃赫米雅获得君王的批准去耶路撒冷
并帮助重建城市。

乃赫米雅其后监督重建耶路撒冷的城墙,
即使在耶路撒冷的一些外邦人取笑他。

当工人被外邦人嘲笑时,
乃赫米雅对工人说:

不要害怕他们。只想着

Dear God, please help us to do what is right,
even if we meet ridicule and opposition

亲爱的,请帮助我们做正确的事,
即使我们遇到奚落和反对

Chapter 5

The people were very  poor and could not pay their debts.
Therefore Nehemiah cancelled all debts owed by poor people.

Nehemiah was a just and kind leader.
He even used his own money to pay his expenses,
and never took the salary that he could have claimed.

百姓很穷,无法偿还他们的债务。
因此乃赫米雅取消所有被穷人所欠的债务。

乃赫米雅是一名公正和善良的领袖。
他甚至用自己的钱,支付他的开支,
而从不支取他可以索取的俸禄。

Dear God,  to reduce government corruption in all countries,
please raise up more leaders like Nehemiah

亲爱的,减少所有国家的政府腐败,
请兴起更多像乃赫米雅那样的领袖


Chapter 6

As Nehemiah and the Jews rebuilt the wall
some people continued to obstruct them.

But with God's help the wall was finished in 52 days.

乃赫米雅犹太人重建城墙,
一些人继续
阻挠们。

但有的帮助,城墙在五十二天完成。

Dear God, please help us do your work, despite difficulties

亲爱的,请帮助我们执行你的工作,尽管困难

Chapters 7 - 13

The wall of Jerusalem was finally rebuilt
and doors were set in place in the wall.

In the seventh month of the lunar calendar
Nehemiah assembled all the people
and read to them the Book of the Law of Moses.

This was the first time that most of the people
had heard the words of Moses' Book.

The people were grateful to God
and praised him with great happiness.

The people also promised God
that they would serve him more faithfully in the future.

But while Nehemiah was away on a visit  to the king
the people and leaders became careless about the Law.

When  Nehemiah returned to Jerusalem
he brought the people back to proper observance of the Law 

7 - 13

耶路撒冷的城墙最终被重建
以及在城墙安了门。

在农历七月
乃赫米雅集合所有人

然后给他们读梅瑟的法律书。

大部分人是第一次听到梅瑟书里的话。

百姓感谢
并非常快乐地赞美他。

百姓也答应
他们将更坚贞地侍奉他。

但当乃赫米雅离开去探望君王
百姓和领袖对法律变得不在意。

乃赫米雅返回耶路撒冷
他使百姓恢复正确的遵守法律

Dear God, may we find joy and strength in reading the Bible
and may the world have more good leaders like Nehemiah

以及愿世界有更多像乃赫米雅那样的好领袖
